Food stamps have replaced the soup kitchens of the Great Depression, a subtle hint the US economy is in big trouble.

The number of Americans on food stamps now exceeds the combined populations of “Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming, that's 25 states!

never thought about it that way... very true...

Musing about the advantages of this approach:

Cuts out those damn volunteers...
Preserves corporate profits in groeries and fast-food...
Keeps the destruction of self-respect and of families quiet...
And allows total bureaucratic control...

Most of people do not realize we are already past the economic downturn #s of the great depression but the social welfare has filled the gap to compensate somewhat, in the great depression there was just a shortage of money because the FED retracted the money supply.

All the infrastructure was in place to keep the economy going but not enough money to facilitate commerce and trade.

This is and has been a carefully planned hit job on free and open markets by the socialist with their fake money system and then blame free and open markets for the problems and push for world wide dictatorship so they can consolidate power for themselves.

America has been sold off so they are coming for the land next to do UN 21. They want this country and it's frame work the founding documents buried with the lie permanently .

Yeah I noticed Domino's and elsewhere here in Cali.

Are they just trying to be nice to busy people working multiple jobs, too busy to cook...

or are they trying to replace cash entirely, so they can make a universal system with total control?

PS I don't remember voting on this change... Or even hearing any debate on it....
Other countries have some system for the poor, but not a universal one like this I think. For example Mexico subsidizes tortilla prices, Egypt also... But it is clearly mercy for the poor, not a universal plastic plantation...
