I think this is due to a misunderstanding of the Russian psyche. Russian culture is very much about strength and survival of the fittest. The girls will be docile for a man of he is strong, but view it as almost a duty to exploit a weak man, for that is what they deserve. They are amongst the best women in the world if you're an alpha male, but will snap you like a twig if you show any insecurities.

I get the impression that, while all women are different, Filippino culture tends to produce women who want to be in love and want romance who are also chill and maybe a bit demure. I get the impression that their culture also produces women dedicated to taking good care of the home--cooking and cleaning. Invite Filipinas to dinner and you might have to fight them off with a baseball bat if you really did not want them to wash the dishes. They hop right up and clean up the mess.

Some may consider their cuisine the worst in Asia. It's not really bad, most of it as far as the taste goes. The ones I was around ate a lot of pork. Their chicken rice porridge was about like Indonesia's, except one was thicker and I forget which. Indonesia has spices and bold flavors. So does China, mixing savory and sweet, various soups-- well Chinese food is so varied depending on where one goes. Thai food has this balance of flavors. I guess Nepal is Asian, and I've heard people talk about eating rice and beans all the time, so I don't know if the Philippines actually has the worst food. If you live there, you can eat the tropical fruit, too, I suppose. I think city Filipinas could eat hamburgers and spaghetti, and might learn to cook western food. But I definitely get the impression that the culture is pro-woman-in-the-kitchen. There are a lot of similarities to Indonesian women in this regard.

I am not sure how 'traditional' Russian women are in this regard. I get the impression that they are more traditional and that Russia is a bit male dominated. There are benefits from getting a wife from a male-dominated culture, of course. But a man has to step into the role and establish himself as the boss in a marriage (not talking about being mean. He can be a protector-love type). If she is used to that, it can prevent power struggles. Having the woman know you are the boss can prevent a lot of headaches down the line. I would imagine Filipinas generally would handle a man asserting himself and taking on the lead/boss role in a relationship better than the average American woman. I would imagine both cultures do not pre-program girls against it from the time they are small to the same extent American culture does through media and the educational system.

Russian culture seems to be a bit unemotional-- and don't smile in public or people will think you are an idiot unless you are drunk. Filipinas have reputation for being good wives-- maybe it's a US thing, navy guys bringing wives back. I haven't seen official stats, but from a stat someone stated on a forum, I think divorce rates with Filipina wives is about half of that with American women. We also have to take into account that some percentage of those marriages may be along the lines of 'mail order brides', quick, rushed online dating marriages, and marriages to bar girls. The last I checked, Russia had a relatively high divorce rate. There also may still be some pockets of protect-her-virginity culture where a young Filipina might go everywhere with a sister or cousin, even on dates. This might not be the case in the big cities, and my information could be old.
