The major thing that puts me off about AFA is the amazingly large number of model-quality girls, especially those from Russia and Ukraine (with the notable Chinese exceptions). It's quite easy to spot the relatively mature divorcee on a generous dose of Photoshop. Yet, a good 50% of those girls are so clearly in a different league from the real ones portrayed on romance tour slash "success story" footage, that the only plausible explanation I can come up to is that they come from a large database of amateur models, or plain pretty girls on semi-pro shoots, who have never had to (let alone desired to) date foreigners online. Having said that, Winston's original question was only whether these kind of girls were attainable over there. I think it is really possible, if you put the effort and time.
Again, not to sound PUA but losing weight, getting a haircut that matches your face, nice clothes, working out, etc, will work wonders to maximize your results. 1) are they genuinely looking for a foreign partner, or they just lend their smiles and poses for a "dating service" of dubious utility, in which case the chance of attaining them is cipher nought?

They're the bait people click on and send love letters to (replied by some hacks slaving away in a poorly heated office in a tier 3 Russian town). Then $100 or $500 worth of "translation fees" later, the more adventurous (or desperate) of them will want to meet the lady, and the lady will agree, only to flake out at the last possible convenient moment. Maybe Mr. Joe already has a ticket booked and you could see the disappointment etched on his ageing face. But...no fear! Some may actually be genuinely looking for a foreign partner. Don’t forget China’s size. The pool of Chinese gals on English language dating sites relative to their total population is much smaller than it is for Filippinas or Russians. A westerner is a lot more obvious and exotic in China than in Russia. There are still niche girls in China, some of whom are even attractive or better.

I think most of this crazy money in China is new. 25-30 years ago, very few local mainlanders were even wealthy. Now you probably got more millionaires in either Shanghai or Beijing than NYC. The friend of mine I mentioned in Shanghai was broke 10 years ago. Now he owns a downtown Shanghai apartment, a restaurant, and a club. He acts and gets treated like a big shot. When he comes to Taipei, his attitude is that it’s just a backwater now.

There’s a percentage of Chinese girls who may remain innocent and simple. I’ve met those types. They may marry their college sweetheart or perhaps an English teacher crush. Some won’t feel comfortable around rich or flashy guys. They may think that they are not good enough or that they don’t fit in that kind of life. Even some very pretty girls just want a simple life. But the million dollar question is, given what’s been going on in China, how small has that percentage become.

Yes, some westerners are very delusional about how they are seen abroad. The pattern they often seem to fall into is initially having some beginners luck when they arrive in country or at some point after, learning to fancy themselves as newly minted ladies men, but quickly spiraling down the quality ladder of who they date. However, let's consider a worst-case scenario. Suppose each one of them is a single male and heavily monopolizes/spoils 10 girls or so. That's 10 million of the hottest girls.

There's about 100 million girls aged 20-30

Nah man! Get her pregnant a few times and she will fill out! Fine wines get better with age! This is the natural order of how women SHOULD be. She is just right. In her 30's she will get a little closer to what you like and might take till 40 or 50 to get the rest. Then she is still enjoyable if not more in your older age. She could be a high end escort. It is actually very common these days to find pics of girls like this one taking photos in hotels in China, like this gal did. They usually post this kind of stuff in Weibo with titles like: "Am I hot or no". They are usually mining for comments to help jumpstart a modeling career, increase their modeling work, look for sugardaddys, or pull high end clientele for xiaojie activity. Some of the xiaojie-ish ones do not think what they are doing is xiaojie, because they are not the ones hanging out in the barbershops offering a bullshit haircut. Some of those are also mining for an er-nai gig as well.

She is not "Virgin-Hunting" material, but at the same time, she still might be a good catch if her background and personality pans out. Her beauty makes her worth the effort to dig for sure!
