Why they fall for the scams?

Post by ladislav »

There are scammers in the West, too, so why do so many Western men fall for the scams in the Philippines?

Because scams in the West are more of white collar type: they have to do with time shares, selling some worthless land, some stock and investment bs, some high interest deposits, or FOREX that go bust, etc. They involve some pretty decent sums of money, too.

So, a Western man will usually not fall for those as he's often been taught that those are usually scams.

In the PH, they are very basic and simple and are more blue collar. They get you with their brazen simplicity.

The scams mostly have to do with faking tragedies, emergencies and necessities in the most basic events of daily life. "I need money for school uniform, my son needs to go to the dentist, I need to pay rent, pay for my mother's funeral, I have no change, I forgot to turn on the meter, I lost my cellphone, can I borrow some money, etc."

And they involve relatively small sums of money.

Most Westerners have no experience with those and could not imagine how a person would fake own death to ask her son to call you to ask you to send $20 for the flowers for the funeral! I mean, the nerve!

It's way too insolent and too simple and even insulting to one's intelligence.

This is why people fall for those daily.
A brain is a terrible thing to wash!

yes cuz mostly older men that have some more money then the women think they are Mr big millionaire and can afford to help her so he can get easier in her pants mentality. that's most men coming to PH. had some dates that never became 2nd dates as they said it is a Filipino ritual to take the family and family friends our for dinner at vikings buffet restaurant (1050 PHP/person) or take 50 people out for a day at the beach where it is filipino tradition that I as foreigner should pay. with all these type of girls, etc. so guess many men fall for this BS. Once I was invited for her dad's birthday second date at Vikings cebu (how funny) but her mom forgot her wallet with 30+ people and asked me to pay in advance so I will get it back later. Family looked poor and from the barangay (even if rich, wouldn't have done it). I actually came without wallet. Just my phone to get the grab taxi. It really got tiring, these things....

It's coz the Philippines was Westernized with American influence.

The majority of these scams are perpetuated by the stereotype that the White man is loaded with cash.

Wrong.

We are middle class. We (used) to work hard to afford the (once) American or Canadian Dream. Now it's over because of the feminist siding with the elite to attack middle class men to bring forth corporatist fascism and a gender socialist police state.

The ones with cash are the Chads and Tyrones who own the major corporations, real estate and industries.
