This is true... the "Chinese yuan just broke the American dollar's hegemony" story is a complete fabrication. Chinese government pays Western media and YouTube influencers to spread the bullshit invented tale but it isn't backed up by any hard facts, upon closer inspection:

Governments like to "plant" stories in the collective conscious to f**k with people's minds, mess them up a little. Every major government does this, some are more sophisticated than others. The petro-yuan story was one of those stories that inorganically got plastered all over the net and mindlessly repeated by stupid people without critical thinking skills. A lot of time it is wishful thinking... "I hate the West, here's a story that says the West will fail and Russia/China will win so it MUST be true since I want it to be". Confirmation bias at its finest lol.
