Here is a take on the seemingly baffling decision to appoint Ellen Pao as CEO of Reddit. According to this commentary the reason was that a Reddit investor and competitor of the firm she was suing for sexual harassment wanted to lend credence to her frivolous lawsuit by portraying her as a high-flying executive who had been wronged, and the job didn't matter anyway as long as she just did nothing to f**k it up. As it turned out she could not even manage that. I presume there are similar reasons behind the appointments of other female executives. Aren't you glad you live in a meritocracy, where hard work, thrift and skill will be rewarded.
