You will notice the industrial revolution made possible on the scale that has taken place the last 100 years has been made possible by oil and it appears we have cut our own throats.

I don't get why the Industrial Revolution plays such a role in this, since having kids doesn't instantly connect to how much food is available. For one, someone might just have a certain number of kids- even if they have the food available to feed more.
Also, look at all those countries where they are starving- yet have 7-10 kids. As I understand, the "refugees" in Europe plan to breed out the Europeans (never mentioning how all these kids are going to survive). Somalia, Eritrea, Afghanistan- these are countries with lots of food?

Moretorque: I figure the welfare being cut off (meaning they simply don't get resources) would be useful. Doesn't have to come from the boss, could just be the implementation level. Could just be that the implementation level doesn't have anything to do with it & are just cut out entirely. Like breaking gears & such- it doesn't require the consent of the manager or even the one that typically pulls the levers.
The rulers are only able to do much of anything because of the people just like them that implement their decisions.
