Ladislav, what you say is true too. It depends on how you want to define slavery.

But the bottom line is that for most people, their choices are to either become a robot or a bum. Most people aren't smart enough to pursue the alternatives that you and Terrence listed. We aren't taught to think for ourselves or out of the box.

Yeah, but who is it that has time, education, and resources to do that? Answer: the middle class/upper middle class. If you're a single parent or you're in a marriage in the US and you're poor, you're f***ed and your kid is f***ed because you won't have the time to homeschool him/her and you probably won't live in a very good neighborhood, so the public school where your kid will have to go will seriously suck.

Most of these wonderful-sounding choices are only possible for people who are already succeeding. Losing is downward spiral in America. The lower you go, the harder it becomes to get back up and your bloodline will most likely be peasants for generations to come.
Exactly! But what's the point of being rich in America? Seriously! You are still lonely, sick and degraded. Yes, you may drive a Lexus instead of beatup Chevy Cavalier, so what? What difference does it really make? Do girls jump into your car as they do in Ukraine? No, they don't. Does your money give you status in America? Somewhat, you go to a better church and live in a better area, but does it mean better social life? Absolutely NOT! Actually rich people in America seem to be even more snobby and isolated/scared than poor folks.

You got money for education? Great. I graduated from one of Big Ten universities (yea, me stupid immigranto). I've seen kids that grew up in Beverly Hills, CA and richest suburbs of Chicago. Are those kids happy? They've been homeschooled, they have all the money in the world. Well, guess what do they do with that money? Buy porn movies, bags of weed and coke, tons of booze. That's how they spend their weekends! LONELY! No, I wasn't shocked when I saw that, I was GOING NUTZ! All that status, power, connections, money??? FOR WHAT? What's the point??? It does not make anyone happy in America.

Slavery can be defined as someone who is the property of another, or a person who is under the domination of some influence (i.e. drug addicts). If your intent is to state that people are subject to dominate, pre-defined social norms, then your word-use may be acceptable. However, it'd also be an oxymoron, since every civilization has its social norms and customs, followed by the smaller counter-culture movement with claims to "thinking out of the box", which is really cliché.

During Roman times, slavery was very simple, you're a slave and your master had power over your life and death. By Medieval times chattel slavery had declined and gradually replaced by serfdom. The social order was a classed system of manorial lords and knights who were obligated to fight in times of war, the clergy who were responsible for spiritual needs, and the serfs who were tied to his/her lord's lands.

This type of classed society was common around the world, with limited class mobility. In China it was the "Four occupations" of Scholars, Farmers, Artisans/Craftsman, and Merchants/traders. In India the caste system was Brahmins, Kshatriya, Vaisyas, Shudras, and untouchables. In Japan it was the samurai, peasants, artisans, merchants, and untouchables. These feudal class systems usually did not survive industrial revolution, but for countries lagging behind in development, they lasted well into the 19th and 20th century.

The freedom that we have (but not necessarily enjoy) today, when viewed from historical perspective, is freedom from the caste system and freedom of having class mobility. A serf is tied to his baron's lands, and if he wanted to leave or marry a girl from another lord's lands, he has to compensate his lord financially for the "loss of earnings". A worker today enjoys at-will employment, where the employer and employee are free to break the relationship with no liability. A serf is the economic resource of his lord, you, on the other hand, has the freedom to vote with your feet.

Since you as an employee is no longer "owned" as a serf, you sit in the liabilities column, opposite to owner's equity column. If you don't understand, let me put it this way: you cost money to your employer. Your employer will make more money by getting rid of you, instead of chaining you to your desk for 40 hours/week. This is why we have ATM's instead of teller windows with a pretty girl at the bank. My first corporate IT job was certified OS/2 engineer, because back then many ATM's ran OS/2 operating system.

Winston wrote:If you think about it though, unless you are at the executive level, most jobs are technically positions of slavery, because you are giving over a large portion of your day in servitude to a corporate body, organization or business that is structured in a hierarchical fashion. Technically, that is slavery. There's no way around it. But of course, the system tries to convince you that it's not by getting you to think that YOU are the one that wants it. But even if you don't, you have to anyway cause you need the money to pay your bills. Hence, whether you want it or not, the employment enslavement is "forced" upon you by the system. .
And if the bus driver wasn't working (or only worked whenever he felt like it), your bus would never arrive. If CAL-TRANS guys wasn't working, you wouldn't have a freeway to drive on. If gas company workers wasn't working, you wouldn't have gas for heating and cooking. If people like me didn't fly to Alberta to fix stuff, you might not have petrol for your car. You should be thankful that the "system" puts people on-call 24/7 to respond to your needs (gas leak, medical emergency, etc).

If you like, you can acquire some land in Taiwan and try your hand at farming. You won't have a boss, nobody will tell you want to do. If you didn't get up in the morning to work on your farm, you'd have no food on the table. The freedom to choose if you want to work your land, is not far from choosing if you want to get up and go work in an office, or get on a plane to work like me.

If you want to be able to board a plane to fly somewhere, a large number of people must be committed to working to keep the plane flying. It starts from going to school, getting an education, and learning about aviation and engineering before they can even be qualified to work on the aircraft. This is the reality of things. For every benefit, there is a cost. You, being able to buy a ticket and fly to Taiwan or Philippines, means many hundreds of people must get up and go to work in the morning, for you to reap the benefits of their labor. Learn to be thankful to them for their labor, and the Thai rice farmer who doesn't have a corporate job in a hierarchical business organization, having to bend his back on a hot day to plant the rice in your bowl instead of sitting in an air conditioned office sipping Starbucks & moaning about how hard life is, swimming in a pool of schadenfreude.

And if this is "slavery", I can think of >1 billion people in the world who would love to sign up:

Wealth equates mobility. A Thai farm worker making 100 baht a day in the rice paddies cannot afford to buy a plane ticket. You, working in an office job in the US, can easily save the $ to afford a plane ticket to Ukraine. If someone opt to buy a Lexus and restrict his international exposure to microwaved Thai coconut curry egg rolls at Trader Joe's, then that's his loss and none of our business.

Check out this video I found that explains how and why public schools in America are essentially no different than prisons, designed to condition you to think and act as obedient slaves. It's very spot on.

Herd Mentality - The Schooling System

This video describes the history of our enslavement, from ancient times til present. It's very interesting.

The story of your enslavement

Remember, we are also talking about enslavement of the MIND too, not just physical enslavement.

Re: Why the World is a Global Enslavement Machine

Post by Winston »

Have any of you noticed something? Society is too extreme in that it ALWAYS wants you to live for others and never for yourself: When you are a child, you live to serve your parents and teachers and school system and must be obedient to them (despite being told that you live in a "free country" if you're in America, go figure). When you get out of school, you are expected to get a job and serve the needs of your employer and company, putting their needs above your own. Then you are expected to get married and start a family. Once you do that, you serve their needs and live for them, putting your family's needs above yours. This is especially the case when it comes to children, you are expected to put their needs ABOVE yours and serve all their needs as though you were your kids' slave and servant and owed them everything.

So you see, if you do what society told you to do and be, and followed the ideal life set by society, you essentially NEVER get to live for yourself. You NEVER get to do what you want and what you love. You ALWAYS serve the needs of others. You are ALWAYS enslaved to others needs. In short, you NEVER get to truly live for yourself.

So what's all this talk about freedom? Freedom what? Freedom to always serve the needs of others and never for yourself? But alas, this is normal and it is what you are supposed to want.

Some other articles similar to mine about why the world is a global enslavement machine and parasitic system run by psychopaths. These are by Australian Truther Max Igan.

So true. We live in a sophisticated mind controlled system and prison and scientific dictatorship where people cannot see the bars of their own prison, as Alan Watt said. See the meme below. Visit Alan Watt's website at http://www.cuttingthroughthematrix.com

The system can be exploitative but one cannot really call it slavery. You do not have a master who owns you. You get paid. You can go to school and get another license so you could get a better job. You can leave the country any time you want and work overseas. There are student loans and grants for those who do not have money. Many loans cover your room and board.
If you have no money you can use credit. Just several months into a job you can apply for a credit card. If you want to leave the country you can use it and then pay it off when you get a job. I lived on credit for years and years. And you can work with your creditors to lower payments, defer, forbear, etc.
If you don't like your boss ( as what happened to me several times and you piss him off or he pisses you off) you can just quit and walk off the job and they are obliged to send you your last paycheck within 72 hours.
Once I had some bad time at work and one day I got fed up, I just faxed my boss a letter of resignation and asked him to throw my stuff away- I did not even want to go to the office to pick it up- that is how pissed off I was. Did they send a posse to get me?
That is not slavery.
With marriage, also, no one is forcing you to get married. You can be in many situations where you can cohabitate, you can have several girlfriends, etc. Especially if you are not doing it in the USA.
A bit off topic- we often read about how Europeans and Aussies live and the benefits they get and then how Denmark is the happiest country in the world, etc. But few of us here can emigrate to those countries easily and enjoy what the citizens there enjoy. Or if we can, it will be a long term project. We have America at our disposal so let's see what we can do with the tools it provides.
Well yes and no @ladislav. True there are choices you can make to be MORE FREE and less enslaved. However, the system in general is an enslavement machine and people farm, because still you have to PAY IN ORDER TO LIVE. You cannot just do what you want. For most people that means employment and long hours. So they have to work in order to live and live in order to work, and they end up doing nothing but work. But what's the point of making a living if all you do is make a living? What's the point of working if all you do is work? You see what I mean? Most people aren't that smart, so they cannot figure out a way out of this. That's the tragedy. The nature of the system is slavery and parasitic. There's a meme that says that slaves were not freed in 1865, instead, the whole world became enslaved economically. Very true.

Also, regardless of whether you call the economic system slavery or not, still the problem is that the system definitely FEELS LIKE SLAVERY. It treats people like slaves and people feel like slaves, because they are. That's for sure. I'm sure everyone here would agree, including you perhaps. Money is a control system for sure. Without it, the elite and the system could not control us. Pure and simple.

Listen to what Max Igan says about the system below and why it's slavery, pure and simple. He says that money itself as paper may not be evil, but the CONCEPT of money is evil. And what it does to your soul is EVIL because it acts as a psychic pathogen to turn your soul to evil and greed too. That concept of money is evil because it enslaves people and allows the oversouls to ENSLAVE people as resources and products on a people farm. Everything is used as a control system if you think about it and dig deeper and red pill yourself.

Btw ladislav, you seem quick to dismiss any notion of conspiracy with a knee jerk reaction and automatic bias, just like @WorldTraveler does. However, understand that just because you are ignorant of conspiracies does not mean they don't exist. You understand? I can be ignorant of Alabama but that doesn't mean Alabama doesn't exist. Choosing to be ignorant of something and not researching something doesn't make the thing not exist if it does, especially when there's lots of proof to support it. You understand? Denial does not erase the truth or remove reality.
