Hell the infantilization is not even an abstraction any more! Add to that shows like Adventure Time and others and you have a whole generation still in a school yard mentality.

Re: Generation f***ed.
Sadly, this is a continuing of a thirty year old trend -- adults refusing to grow up. Instead of letting kids play stickball etc on vacant lots, adult men started playing sports during the weekday in California. And instead of bearing children, women in Atlanta started sculpting their bodies, first with aerobics and later weights.
Owning dogs and cats substitute for raising children.
And now coloring books?
Yeah you couldnt make this up.

Things are just a mess, I look how much it has changed the last 50 years and cannot believe it. The thing that gets me is how people cannot figure it is such a mess and what to do about it.

Re: Generation f***ed.
I understand what you're saying here, but stickball was not a bad thing when I was growing up in NYC. It was not a product of single mothers (as far as I can see). I know you're saying that if we had cohesive families, then we would be able to afford actual bats, baseballs in lieu of stickball; I understand you.Jester wrote:Sadly, this is a continuing of a thirty year old trend -- adults refusing to grow up.
