Supporting a family in a foreign country?

Does anybody on here support a family overseas but work in the US? What country? How many times do you visit? What are the economic benefits of working in the US and sending money to your family overseas?............I used to think Mexicans were the only ones who do this, but as a white American male I am seriously considering it....for the economic benefits and the lifestyle I could provide my family in their home country. I guess this is because I am 22 years old with only 5K in the bank making $20K a year...but I am about to get a better job that pays almost double.
