As a country approaches an economic collapse, a crystal ball is not necessary to predict that, amongst the actions of the government, will be increased currency controls, travel controls, tariffs, and a host of other last-ditch efforts to keep the sheep penned in - to assure their presence for a final shearing.

I have personally experienced these "controls" and it is the very reason I will never travel to the US anymore. Each time I traveled there from Europe I had to deal with America's immigration paranoia and ended up in some sort of trouble with these INS goons (and sometimes Homeland Security buffoons) at any airport, including but not limited to interrogation, intimidation, fingerprinting both hands and taking pictures from three different angles. I also had to renew my Dutch passport which now has my BSN number (Dutch social security number) on it.....which confused these minimum-wage thugs even more.

It was also always very tiresome to travel from the US to Europe, same thing; "How long are you going to be there? What are you doing there? Why do you have a one-way ticket?" etc. etc. Once at the Amsterdam airport you pick up your luggage and before you know it, you are in the arrival hall. No goons, no buffoons.
