Working Holiday in TW for Chinese Speakers from abroad

Post by momopi »

Some oversea Chinese/Taiwanese assumes that going to work in TW means teaching English. But there are many other opportunities, such as working at resorts, guest houses, organic farms, etc:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working_holiday_visa

"Citizens of the following countries are eligible for a working holiday visa: New Zealand (Effective from June 1, 2004); Australia (Effective from November 1, 2004); Japan (Effective from June 1, 2009); Canada (Effective from July 1, 2010); Germany (Effective from Oct, 2010); Republic of Korea (Effective from Jan 1, 2011); United Kingdom (Effective from Jan 1, 2012); Ireland (Effective from Jan 1, 2013)"

Note that working holiday program is for young adults age 18-30. Minimum wage in Taiwan is about $3.63 USD/hour, so don't expect high salary.
