Yes, taken at face value it is hard not to conclude that the Germans were the good guys and were defending themselves.

Nonsense. Germany pre-emptively started the war, first by annexing (under extreme political pressure/propaganda) Austria and Czech, then launching an all-out invasion of Poland. Hitler had made it clear for years that he intended to expand Germany Eastward into Russia for "Lebensraum".

The thing that always picks my curiosity is why, after even successfully invading France and the low countries, and made alliance with Italy, and an unofficial alliance with Spain, why did Hitler feel the need to keep pushing by trying to bomb out Britain and then invade the USSR? He could have stopped after invading France and enjoyed his spoils. Instead, he decided to truly turn it into a global war by pulling Britain, USSR and inevitably the USA into the war.

Please study Hitler's earlier speeches, journals, and Mien Kampf. He clearly states his plans to expand German territory and expel/exterminate Jews.

Just remember ink and paper have been writing lies for centuries and centuries, once I saw how the modern monetary system works I figured not to pay to much attention to what was feed to me by the main stream. SOCIALISM!
