The real reason to fear negativity here is that the negativity can become addictive. One can't resist not reading the negative topics. They are stimulating somehow and can become intoxicating, like Alex Jones' paranoia porn. Misery can be addicting. And that's a scary thing because it can prevent you from going abroad to be happy.

Most of those that leave eventually return once they realize that the political correctness on other forums is intolerable and an insult to truth and honesty and free speech.
Whereas I like Steve and have enjoyed some of his posts, I don't see the necessity in posting a book of reasons why one is leaving. It started with Bananao then a few others. If you are gonna leave just leave lol. It's not like breaking up with a girlfriend or heading off to a deserted island for years. Most people on here haven't even met each other though act like life long pals. It just seems like a ploy to gather sympathy or make one last attempt at mustering up self worth. If one is unhappy with what is posted then simply don't post and come back every now and then when something intrigues you.

One thing I did agree with that he mentioned was the negativity. I've noticed this in myself after spending too much time on here. I had begun to feel to sorry for myself and/or place myself in other posters frame of mind. It can bring one down being surrounded by negativity so its good to balance it out.

Ha ha, I was wondering the same thing. What a bunch of drama lovers. Like it really matters if they decide to leave. Guess what. Life goes on. Just vote with your feet, the way people like Momopi and Lad do when they stop posting. Who cares if you're gone. Just go already and shut up about it. You don't matter as much as you think you do. None of us are important, all of us are expendable.

Please, no more Dear John letters. Just get lost you whiny girls ha ha.

Thanks jester, you are 100% spot on!! Ive been a big part of this forum and Ive gotten to know a lot of guys here. Hell, I'm listed as part of the happier abroad team on the team page and contributed to some of the material on the happier abroad website including the research section and dating profile comparisons sections of this site. Im not just a passer by with an occasional post. Im not going to just dissapear without a word. Maybe some guys get to know people well and simply dissapear without a word. I'm not that kind of person. If I was just a passer bye or a very occasional poster, then yea, it would be pretty weird to announce my departure. In my case, it wasn't only about announcing it, it was also about why. Jester seems to knows what I'm talkin about and was spot on in his comment.

A good example is if you date a girl for 2 years. Do you just leave without a word? Maybe rock and Winston do it that way. But when I've a very active part of anything and gotten to know folks well, I don't just dissapear without saying anything . Has nothing to do with drama, I'd say more to do with respect and how I handle my relations with people. Each person has their own standards I guess.

I'll asume that Winston and rock are mostly referring to the numerous other posters who announced their departures who were far less active here and whom most people didn't really even know who they were. I think it boils down to how many people you knew, or got to know well and developed friendships with. If you are hardly known and didnt develop friendships here, and didn't play a role with anything, then yea, I would think it a bit silly to announce and explain your departure. No one would care cause no one knows you.

I see your point, especially when I look back to my former 11000+ comments with Orientexpat, which exists now with 2 comments per day done by a few remaining members, who are the personal friends of the site-owner/admin. All others either left or were banned.

HA is your forum, do with it whatever you want. Up to you. However, my personal opinion, please consider it is also not really acceptable for serious members, who write moderate and intelligent comments to face troll-postings all the time. I am sure, some valuable members really left only because of that.

I think, there is a line between troll-postings and truth/honesty/free speech.

As I said before in a similar comment in another thread, quite a good number of meaningless/useless comments/and some entire threads which contain only crap postings which have nothing to do at all with 'HappierAbroad' should be deleted or at least moved away to a certain small part of the forum, which you might call TrollHut' or 'LoonyBin' or whatever.

Please note, I said, such comments should be deleted or moved by moderators, I did not say that the member should be banned.
If comments are moved or removed and it is done persistently, trolls are getting bored and disappear by themselves.

Overmoderation is very bad for a forum, but it is well-known that without any moderation at all most threads are ending off-topics or are full with stupid comments, smilies, brainless copy/paste stuff from elsewhere etc. Please think about it.

I've come to realize that the majority of topics on this forum and in Winston's email distribution list are negative. Despite being true, they are still negative. Though, not all topics are , most are. Being constantly bombarded with negative thoughts on a daily basis is psychologically unhealthy. I think even Winston will have to admit this too. What's the point of constantly dwelling on this negative stuff ? The fact that it's true doesnt change the fact that it's still negative. More and more I've been asking myself that question. While I think it is good that this site exists so that men can learn these truths, it simply isn't healthy to read about on a daily basis. It's actually very depressing. I suppose that in a way, I am sort of advocating a ignorance is bliss way of thinking. Ignorance is bliss is one of the main reasons why we all love our childhoods so much too. As a child, you are protected from knowing the garbage of the world . Once you grow up and learn how selfish and evil the world really is, it's a total bummer! As kids , we used to be able to watch TV commercials and be entertained by them. But when we grow up and become wiser and knowledgeable about the world, we see the truths behind most of these TV commercials which is the fact that they are poisoning our mind and souls with materialism and consumerism and teaching us a "beat the Joneses" type lifestyle which is making most of us miserable as it reminds us of what we don't have, not to mention that a great many commercials are outright lies and cons in order to get your money. In this same way , I think it's better to keep these thoughts at a distance rather than incessantly dwell on them.

Last year I successfully got away from facebook and ended up being much happier without it. I hope to do the same here with happier abroad. Although facebook was useful in keeping up with friends and family, it also exposed me to everyone's dirty laundry on a daily basis such as drama queens, unsavory political views, people bombarding facebook with their spam , and pervasive showing off (aka: narcissism, in the form of "beating the jonses".) I think if I ever rejoin facebook, I'll make sure to put 90% of people's news feeds on ignore and I suppose that could have solved my facebook problem from the beginning by doing that.

I hope I will be successful at trying to steer away from here for the long term. No offense to Winston , as I said, I think this site and others like it are very valuable as a one time or short term read for the knowledge one can gain from it, but I really don't like being constantly reminded on a daily basis about the negatives of american women and american culture. It's kind of like a fat person being reminded every single day "hey, did you know that you are fat?" It would be a breath of fresh air to go several days of not being reminded about it. Just because something is negative and also true doesn't mean we have to dwell on it and think about it every single day of our lives. I think the healthiest approach is to learn it, know it, and move on.

Lastly, given that my website has been up and running for at least two years and I still have very little traffic to show for it, I don't see the point in even maintaining it and will probably let it die or sell it to Winston for $1. Lol. Or how about I auction it on eBay as a publicity stunt? Lol. Maybe CNN would latch into it for a story as a hate site. Ha ha ha. My goal when I started it was to reach the masses. But I ain't reaching jack shit. I have about 500 hits a month compared to Winston's 90,000 hits a month. If I'm not reaching people, what's the point? May as well let Winston and Roosh and others continue to carry that flag. They're doing an excellent job of doing what is needed in educating western men about the dangers of western women in relationships . Given the ever increasing number of men going abroad for wives, I think the message is getting out there quite well. I hope I'll be disciplined enough to steer clear of here for quite a long time and thereafter.

MarcosZeitola wrote:Good luck, Steve! Hope you and your lovely fiancée make it. Keep up updated, if possible through Winston. I'm curious to see how things play out, and wish for you the best. I agree that the forums have gone downhill and it's largely due to trolls like Anatol and PaloaAltoGuy being allowed to continue posting. The indecisive attitude of this forum's administration is what's going to be its ultimate downfall. At this rate we'll be dead as a dodo by early 2015.

What I am much more puzzled by is why Winston tolerates freaks like you, Anatol.
I have to agree with Marcos once again.

Steve...The equations are all against humanity....Its going to get more complicated for the ones who play by the rules.....THINK...Why you came here in the first place...has that issue solved yet in the world...? The world you left has become more worse...I enjoyed reading your posts....Don't take things as negative but facts....even the positives are controlled and dripped down to humans.

No one wants to live in negativity....but it is what majority of us are going through ...We are all going through issues man..We all want good positive life...sometimes it just don't work the way we want it.

Its our conditioning ...That human beings are a piece of sh**T....One of the greatest species ever created in the entire known universe has become a mere piece of crap..You need to really wake up

Everyone wants to blame a fellow human being for his misery...when the true evil lurks behind manipulating us all...The evil wants to convert all good guys into his side..It divides things into positive and negatives for us to remain divided and keep fighting...

Good guys should know it better and understand why people talk about negatives because its what earth is going through.

You need to stick around and spread your positives messages to all of us...

I'm writing a separate thread on this...No one wants to be a student of humanity...Everyone wants to be its teacher, leader etc...which has led to humanities down fall....

Consider me as your student...No one wants to learn from a human being instead they all want to lead it by craps like Hitler, Obama, Ghandhi, Churchill, all gods and angels and demons.....Its all reverse....

You have great positive message that I can learn from....
