And finally, he should have started a family in Brazil, if he wanted kids, far away from Yankee-ville, esp that cesspool known as Los Angeles County.
OK I'll bite here.

Why Brazil?

Does Kobe Bryant have a Brazil connection?

Or is it that Brazil is a great place for Black American men who like caramel colred girls?

Or is it that Brazil is the best place for a player to have a wife, if he has the buck$$ to get residency?

Curious about your thought process here.
Ok, let me try to break this down .. in the County of Los Angeles USA, Vanessa, Kobe's wife, believes that she has 100% control over her hubby and their lifestyle. In other words, Vanessa is not a millionaire on her own accord but feels that she has control over her husband's assets.

In reality, Kobe is the greatest NBA player in his category, and thus, is the reason why Vanessa is able to live the rich lifestyle of a debutante.

So instead of Vanessa understanding this and in letting Kobe being a regular rich guy, she basically spends her time, threatening divorce and attempts to control this "sort of" Alpha male persona, any way she can.

In contrast, if a Brazilian woman knew that her husband was America's top athlete, she'd make the deal known ... whomever he'd banged on the road, keep it away from the home. Let it end on the road show at some motel/club in Denver.

Thus, the Colorado event would never have occurred. Kobe would have hired a Sugar Baby, to service him, during his road tours when Vanessa wasn't around.

Of course, granted, the Brazilian woman would want Kobe to only desire her, over other ladies on the road tour, but at least she gets this one piece ... once the season is over, he's not going to want to go back to Colorado for some stateside skank.

This used to be the SOP among well-known/powerful people ... come to think of it, plenty of regular people, too.
The wife enjoyed a standard of living far above what she was willing/able to work for on her own and side pieces had their funtime access and kept quiet.
No fault frivorce and money from tell-all books were a 1-2 punch against that.

On talk radio, today, they were taking about the latest allegations against Cosby.
Surprise, they were NOT blindly taking the sides of the women.
The consensus was 1) these women are looking for a quick pay day and
2) if you're repeatedly with someone providing you with sex & drugs, that's an affair, not a crime against you.

Low-class side pieces want to disrupt home life or try to up the price after services rendered.

Aren't you a Black American guy living in Northeast Asia? You were one of the guys whose out-of-the-box life inspired me when I first showed up here.
The same man.

In my quick Google search, "enkou" translates as "halo" or "flame".
Is that a euphemism for "subsidizing a college girl", or for "having a mistress", or for having a brief "fling"?

Quite interested in hearing more about this!
"Enkou" is short for Enjo Kousai (援助交際) which literally translates as compensated companionship. It does often present itself as subsidizing a college girl, or high school in some cases, since the age of consent can be relatively low in some places in japan, but it is usually long term rather than a brief fling. It usually takes the form of gifts and possibly a nice apartment, as opposed to direct cash, though some pocket money might be thrown in if the girl doesn't work at all. A wealthy guy might even throw in a car for the girl.

Enkou has grown to epidemic proportions in Japan and is quite the phenomenon in Korea as well. Sites geared towards such arrangements are popping up and being shut down by police on a regular basis. These are more often than not mobile sites meant to be accessed from a cell phone, and not found on the standard PC. This is one of the reasons for the prevalence of "grass eating men" in Japan. They feel they can't "afford" girls anymore.

While enkou is generally an accepted facet of life, police involvement and the shutting down of sites occurs because their is always some dude getting involved in compensated relationships with girls as young as 11.

Unfortunately, just like in the case of Kobe, Crosby's had a couple of shows cancelled by studio execs, due to the bad publicity.

Seriously, we're talking millions of dollars because of a bunch of trunked up charges.
